Finally home from convention! It was an incredible experience and we made so many great connections. I can't believe it's over. Advice for the next PHE Club President is don't sweat the small stuff. After the fact you'll look back and realize it wasn't even going to have an effect on everyone's experience. Although everyone got stuck on a crappy old school bus they made memories that will last a lifetime. This experience has taught me so many things about my peers, even the ones I doubt the most listen to me. This probably sounds like I'm blabbing but so many professionals came up to me at the banquet and told me how professional the students from Slippery Rock were. Also the interns got the best compliment ever, we were one of the best groups of interns ever. Overall this convention was very fun except for the fact that Dr. Leight didn't win president. She'll get it one of these years for certain. Can't wait for Mini- Convention!

First Day of Interning

PSAHPERD
Well we began our adventure as interns this morning. We started out at 6:30 and because I drive faster than I should we lost the other car of interns and they arrived a while after us. I felt awful! Other then that we were put to work quickly. After a lot of the busy work was done some of us sat down and I saw two older ladies knitting and I've always wanted to learn so I went over and asked to learn and they taught me in a matter of seconds. Then we had to put all the signs around the entire building, when you have two people that don't know where they are going it becomes hard to be the ones giving directions. Drew doesn't think I'll ever knit so he is going to be the first person to receive a scarf. Once Dr. Leight arrived I got the keys to the chalets and then went and got everything settled for he other students that were arriving. I didn't realize arrangements were changed because I thought the others were coming in on a coach bus. Somehow things go changed but we are all here safe and ready for a day of learning experiences and fun.

PSAHPERD HERE WE COME!!!!!

Just about packed up and ready to leave for Seven Springs in the morning. We have lots planned for the fun weekend. Theres about 50 students from Slippery Rock University attending this years PSAHPERD. The interns arrive Thursday bright and early to begin registering professionals and helping with all the last minute touches. Thursday night the other students from Slippery Rock arrive, there are both PAFM and PE majors attending. Lauren Marchewka's mom made lasagna for lunch everyone on Friday and the the Pizza Party is that night. It sounds like we are eating Italian and not so healthy but we'll work it all of at the early morning F.I.T. club workout. This first session begins at 7:30 and yes everyone is expected to be there. It's going to be a cold weekend so hopefully no ones freezes in the chalets. Hopefully I have wifi at the hotel to finish this TechPete assignment! I can't wait for this weekend to be over.

Last Day of Swimming Lessons

Today was the last day with my adorable little 3 year olds. Sometimes I would complain about having to go get in the pool after a long 3 hours at field but looking back they were some of the most eventful times of this semester. Teaching children is by far one of the most rewarding things in life. I had several moments when students would panic but then realize that swimming and floating aren't that difficult. We had a cookie and certificate party after we were done finishing our skills, it was a blast. After they all left I started crying because I'm going to miss them so much.
